How Did You Break Into The Industry / Your First Job

I am currently a full-time student. However, I am the Social Media Intern for Illinois Media Career Services which has given me skills that are transferable to the advertising industry.

Long Term Career Goal

My long term career goal is to work within the media, fashion, and beauty industry as a Multicultural Strategist. I plan to create a range of positive representations for marginalized, including those with invisible identities. Within these industries, marginalized groups are often misrepresented or underrepresented. For some, there is virtually no representation of their intersectional identities, examples being black women with disabilities or multicultural trans women. I believe it is important to realize that the imagery we see, or lack thereof, within these industries plays a large role in how members of these different marginalized groups build esteem for themselves.
