How Did You Break Into The Industry / Your First Job
In 2012, I did a 6-month internship at Willow Chicago, a church and non-profit organization in the city. Willow Chicago is part of the worldwide network of the Willow Creek Association (WCA).
During my time there, I was mostly responsible for organizing and marketing events. I for example set up a 3-day serving event called "Seedpacking" that several hundred volunteers participated in.
As a result of this internship, I was hired by the WCA in 2013. The WCA is a non-profit organization and network of members in over 100 countries. It serves pioneering pastors and leaders through providing leadership experiences and resources. I worked for their office in Germany as a marketing assistant for two years. My responsibilities consisted of the production of different conferences, partnering with a software provider to create a coference app, conceptualizing marketing material with a supplying graphic agency, overseeing social media, and developing an online and offline strategy for an ambassador network.
Long Term Career Goal
My long term career goal is to have a job that is never dull, deals with exciting projects, and always needs me to be innovative and to think outside of the box. I want to have a position that allows me to use the skills I'm best at, but also challenges me to step out of my comfort zone and take on new things. It is important to me to be part of a vital and diverse team that is passionate, has fun together, and works the hardest to meet the clients' needs.
